Do you trust the media to tell you the truth? Do you believe that you are well-informed?
It would seem fair to say that in 2026, mass confusion reigns at an all-time high in public consciousness.
It would seem fair to assert that there is a widespread struggle for most people to discern the truth of global events and the narratives surrounding them.
Can any person honestly say that they have a comprehensive understanding of what’s going on anymore?
I would argue, and I will present the case, that this is not by mistake; There is a war on truth.
This mass confusion in the realm of public perception has been purposely engineered.
This phenomenon has a name; there is recorded evidence, and this war to control public perception globally is still going on today.
It is called Operation Mockingbird. Operation Mockingbird is a true operation run by the Central Intelligence Agency from the late 1940’s, and I will present the case that it continues to this day.
The operation was headed by Frank Wisner, then director of the Office of Policy Coordination.
The original purpose of Operation Mockingbird was to infiltrate the free press and to manipulate and shape public perception and opinion both domestically and internationally.
This was executed under the pretext of National Security in the Cold War against the Soviets.
The CIA successfully infiltrated highly respected news organisations, and recruited scores of editors and journalists to mold public opinion and perception.
Stories were planted, stories were censored, and narratives were spun.
Organisations and individuals tasked with the responsibility of keeping the public informed, took their 30 pieces of silver and performed the bidding of the CIA.
In addition to active dissemination of CIA approved propaganda, the recruited journalists also provided intelligence to the CIA.
The execution of this operation was alleged to be necessary and in the best interests of the American people, to protect American citizens and combat the threat of the Soviet Union.
The operation continued into the 1970’s and was eventually exposed along with several other agencies, including the NSA and the FBI.
There was a public outcry, and a series of investigations and public hearings were launched.
These were known as the Church Committee hearings.
There was a massive overhaul, and direct investigation into secret and unethical practices and programs run by these agencies was brought to light.
These hearings documented heinous projects and crimes perpetrated by the CIA.
These projects were running in complete secrecy, with massive budgets, and without any restraint, accountability, morality, or sanctity for human life.
As will be discussed in later articles of the “War For Your Mind” series, the nefarious MK ULTRA and Project Artichoke projects were also exposed at the Church Committee hearings.
At the time of the hearings, the scope of Operation Mockingbird was realized. It was confessed that over 25 media organizations as well as 400 journalists were working directly with the CIA.
This included large and highly respected organisations such as the New York Times, CBS news, Time, Life, and various other editors and publishers were also involved.
Despite the exposure of these public hearings, there was no real change or consequence.
No arrests were made, and no measures were put in place to ensure that the CIA would not break its charter again.
As stated by former CIA operative of 17 years and whistleblower, Kevin Shipp: “No evidence has ever been provided that these operations were ever discontinued.”
He asserts that this operation continues to this day. In addition to Shipp, there are multiple sources who assert that Operation Mockingbird is still in effect.
They are: United States Director of National Intelligence – Tulsi Gabbard, Cyber Law Expert – Praveen Dalal, former Fox News Anchor and current host of Redacted News – Clayton Morris, Washington Times Editor – Cheryl Chumley, Journalist – Glenn Greenwald, and political commentators – Michael Knowles, Candace Owens, and now deceased Charlie Kirk.
Due to the effectiveness of Operation Mockingbird, finding truthful information about incriminating and controversial information online is difficult; it requires time, cross-referencing, and discernment.
There are, however, several books that cover Operation Mockingbird extensively.
They are: “The Mighty Wurlitzer – How the CIA Played America” by Hugh Wilford, “Katharine the Great: Katharine Graham and Her Washington Post Empire” by Deborah Davis, “Mockingbird: The Subversion of the Free Press by the CIA” by Alex Constantine, and “The Resistance Manifesto” by Mark Dice.
Operation Mockingbird serves as an incredibly useful template to help better understand current affairs and assists in navigating the madness of modern media in a propaganda-fueled world.
It can serve as a reference to help equip a largely confused and frustrated public to build better discernment, which has been skewed by the deception and narratives of globalist hegemony and the Western Military-Industrial Complex.
We live in an age of centralised, consolidated, and tightly controlled media, and we are drowning in a sea of approved narratives, algorithms, contradictions, gaslighting, censorship, disinformation, and propaganda.
With enough research and reflection into Operation Mockingbird, and using it to honestly evaluate our current affairs and state of global media, it carries a strong argument that Operation Mockingbird has been, and continues to be, one of the strongest tools of individuals and organisations of power to wage war on public consciousness; the ability to control and shape public perceptions, beliefs, and understanding.

A good modern example of Mockingbird is referenced by Glenn Greenwald (who helped assist Edward Snowden with the NSA leaks).
He asserts that Mockingbird no longer operates in the shadows; it operates in the open.
John Brennan, former Director of the CIA, has since worked for both NBC news and MSNBC; and James Clapper, a former Director of National Intelligence, has since worked for CNN.
A noteworthy example of Mockingbird active in the present day is of an investigation launched by Mint Press News and an article written by Alan McLeod, which exposed a large group of individuals who used to work for intelligence agencies (including the CIA and NSA, as well as State Security and NATO), began working in high level positions of influence at tech and social media companies, including Google, Facebook, Tik Tok, and X.
They were assigned positions in departments such as trust and safety, security, and content moderation.
This clearly indicates a conflict of interest and warrants intense scrutiny.
The most important aspect of this case is what happened after the exposure of the article and the investigation.
These named individuals deleted their social media accounts and evidence of their links and involvement.
Those that remained deleted all incriminating evidence from their biographies.
Examples of Operation Mockingbird at play have also been reported by Redacted News.
It is asserted that there is a media bias in relation to coverage of the Ukraine War by PBS news and the Associated Press.
The charter of these news agencies is to report war crimes in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Only war crimes from the Russians have been reported, despite documented evidence by journalist Patrick Lancaster that war crimes have been committed by Ukraine in the Donetsk region and have gone unreported.
Interestingly, PBS and the Associated Press get direct funding from U.S. and NATO governmental organisations.
There are also employees in these organizations with direct links to Intelligence.
The standard of their reporting brings into direct question whether there is manipulation, interference, and an agenda, which has been paid for.
It is also noteworthy that their connections and conflicts of interest are concealed and are never mentioned in the media.
As a result of the general distrust of mainstream media, many people have flocked to alternative media, which has absolutely thrived.
Independent media channels, podcasters, and influencers it would seem, have become the last flames of truth, and have become the primary source for many people to get their information and understanding of the world.
Unfortunately, even these individuals and organisations have not escaped the influence of Mockingbird from the very platforms they occupy.
Many have reported influence, censorship, demonetization, or obstruction from platforms such as X and YouTube.
I began my article with a quote by William J. Casey. According to Barbara Honegger, former Policy Analyst for the White House during the Reagan Administration, this is a true quote, and she heard Casey say this directly.
When this quote is entered into Google, there is a mass of search results discrediting it and relegating it to speculation and inconclusive evidence.
Would you think it possible that Google is deliberately deceiving you?
Would you think it possible that truthful and pertinent information is controlled, suppressed, or falsified?
Do you think it is possible that the information that you are told to trust, that you are told is credible, is deliberately obscured and obfuscated through the lenses of our primary information providers?
In this day, those lenses filtering the information of our current events and daily experiences in the world are the algorithms and the engineering work of Google, YouTube, X, Tik Tok, Facebook, and the wishes of a select group of voices who control mainstream media.
It is important to note that just about all media (including Google and social media) are owned by a small handful of conglomerates and billionaires.
The scope of interference, censorship, disinformation, and manipulation from social media companies and Big Tech will be covered in a later article.
In respect to beginning to become aware of mass manipulation, I believe it is important to highlight that it is not the events themselves that are manipulated (in certain instances they are), but largely it is how the events and information are framed and presented; it is what we are told and shown about the events that are subject to the manipulation.
The context.
The lenses of the modern world, as I have argued with the substantiation of Operation Mockingbird, have been compromised and there is deliberate interference in the information and understanding that we receive.
In addition to the information surrounding Mockingbird provided in this article, one merely needs to look critically at the coverage of mainstream media and the censorship of alternative media in relation to the developments of the Epstein Files disclosure, and the Iran war to conclude that Operation Mockingbird is in full swing.
Unfortunately, just about all information in the world is now controlled by a handful of gatekeepers that serve as the heralds of the modern world, and therefore hold the keys to the context, narrative, and the understanding that the ordinary person has access to.
It is incredibly hard work to try and cut through the noise and gain a truthful and sane understanding of what is happening in the world.
We have witnessed the access of widespread free press, debate, regulation, criticism, dissent, and truthful information – that has been controlled and suppressed – contract into a narrow band of voices, corporations, and interests where nearly all information cannot escape some sort of contamination or interference.
Welcome to the world of Operation Mockingbird.
