Troops arrest two suspected terrorist informants in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested two persons suspected to be informants for terrorist groups in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The development was disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the report, the suspects, identified as Musa Alhaji Isah, 28, and Akona Alhaji, 30, were arrested by troops of the 25 Brigade during a routine operation in the early hours of March 23.

They were said to have been intercepted around 5:30 a.m. after showing suspicious movements in an area described as “Serial 7,” an outer zone leading to the Timbuktu Triangle, a known hideout for terrorists.

Preliminary findings suggest the suspects may have been gathering information for insurgents operating in the area.

“Items recovered from them include two bicycles, a mobile phone, three daggers, a torchlight, a wristwatch, charms, and a cash sum of ₦6,900,” Makama wrote.

The suspects are currently in the custody of military intelligence for further investigation, as security operations continue in the area.
