A Thai crude oil tanker has successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz.
This was after negotiations with Iran and Oman, as stated by Thailandās Foreign Affairs Minister, Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
āI requested that if Thai vessels require passage through the strait, could they assist in ensuring safe transit?ā Phuangketkeow informed reporters, as reported by Reuters.
āThey replied that they would manage it and requested us to provide the names of the ships that would be passing through.ā
This comes after a statement from the Thai energy firm Bangchak Corporation, which confirmed that a tanker that had been anchored in the Persian Gulf since March 11 had safely traversed the narrow waterway.
The company indicated that the vessel is en route across the Indian Ocean and is expected to deliver crude oil to Thailand in early April.
Iran has indicated that ānon-hostileā vessels may safely navigate through the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports, as this crucial shipping route has been largely inaccessible to tankers since the commencement of the US-Israeli military operations over three weeks ago.
The US and other countries are still looking for ways to see their ships sail through the narrow way closed by Iran after the country was attacked four weeks ago.
