War: US urges citizens to leave Iraq

The US Embassy in Baghdad, capital of Iraq, has called on its citizens to immediately leave Iraq amid the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.

The mission made the call on Thursday in a post on X as it cited widespread attacks on US citizens and targets associated with the United States throughout Iraq by suspected Iran-aligned terrorist militias.

The Embassy further stated that it remains open to assist US citizens to evacuate from the Middle East country.

“Do not attempt to come to the embassy in Baghdad or the consulate general in Erbil in light of ongoing risk of missiles, drones and rockets in Iraqi airspace,” it said.

DAILY POST reports trouble started in late February when the United States in conjunction with Israel attacked Iran and killed its Supreme Leader as well as many others.

In retaliation, Iran has severally sent multiple waves of drones and missiles on United States interests in the Middle East and Israel.
