ActionSA Terminates Party Membership Of Fired City Of Tshwane MMC Kholofelo Morodi

Pretoria – ActionSA has announced the termination of the party membership of Kholofelo Morodi, who was fired as MMC for Corporate and Shared Services for the City of Tswane over allegations of wrongdoing linked to testimony before the Madlanga Commission.

In a statement made available to The Bulrushes on Saturday, 28 March 2026, ActionSA stated that Morodi’s membership was terminated after the conclusion of a disciplinary process.

“This decision was taken after a thorough and procedurally fair process,” the statement said.

“Morodi was formally notified of the allegations, afforded an opportunity to respond, granted an extension, and ultimately provided with a 72-hour period to make representations.”

ActionSA said its Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) considered all submissions received before arriving at its decision to terminate Morodi’s membership of the party.

Earlier this week, Morodi was implicated in tender manipulation by a witness in the Madlanga Commission.

Subsequently, Morodi was removed as MMC for Corporate and Shared Services by Tshwane Mayor Dr. Nasiphi Moya on Friday, 27 March 2026.

After her dismissal from her MMC job, Morodi was terminated by her party.

“The PEC considered evidence placed before it relating to conduct inconsistent with the values, constitution, and code of conduct of ActionSA, including provisions of the Party’s Interim Constitution relating to conduct that brings the Party into disrepute,” the party led by Herman Mashaba stated.

“ActionSA takes matters of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct with the utmost seriousness, particularly where public office and public trust are concerned.”

ActionSA said members are held to these standards without exception.

“This matter underscores the importance of acting decisively where concerns arise,” the party said.

“ActionSA will not hesitate to act where the conduct of its members undermines the integrity of the Party or the public institutions it seeks to strengthen.”

ActionSA said it remains committed to building a South Africa defined by clean governance, institutional accountability, and leadership worthy of the public’s trust.
