Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has directed that all first-class graduates from the 30th, 31st and 32nd combined Convocation of Abia State University Uturu should be employed as Graduate Assistants after completing their National Youth Service.
Otti who was speaking at the Convocation program on Friday, said that any student from every department that scored up to CGPA of 4.25 should also be employed as a Graduate Assistant.
He announced that all 69 First- Class graduates from the institution will be awarded postgraduate scholarship from Masters to Ph.D level in any public university in Nigeria, if they accept the lecturing jobs.
Governor Otti directed that a total of 100 exceptional graduates from the combined convocation would be employed into the Abia State civil service.
In his speech, the Vice Chancellor of Abia State University Uturu, Professor Ndukwe Okeudo thanked the administration of Governor Otti for restoring power supply to the institution after more than a decade, and for other projects he executed.
