Durban – Micro, small and medium enterprises in the province stand to receive a share of R1 million funding.
The Hollywood Foundation has officially opened applications for the 2026 KwaZulu-Natal Bambelela Business Awards, an annual initiative that recognises exceptional local entrepreneurs.
These awards help provide a spotlight on the significant contribution made by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to community development, job creation and economic growth across KwaZulu-Natal, reinforcing their role as key drivers of the province’s economy.
Provincial winners will receive a share of R1 million in funding, sponsored by the Hollywood Foundation.
This is the third year these awards have been hosted in the province, and 46 local MSMEs have benefitted already.
The long-term programme reinforces the foundation’s continued commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs and supporting economic progress in the province.
The yearly theme of “Bambelela (Hold On) – Your Dreams Are Valid” reflects the resilience and determination of entrepreneurs who continue to pursue their dreams regardless of the challenges they face.
More than an awards event, the programme provides support, guidance, visibility, and meaningful opportunities for businesses committed to growth and community development.
The two-day programme will also feature an Exhibition and Seminar, where shortlisted SMMEs will showcase their businesses to a panel of judges through exhibitions or funding pitches.
These judges will assess entries based on potential, creativity, and positive impact on local communities.
The foundation encourages all qualifying MSMEs across KwaZulu-Natal to submit their applications and take part in the 2026 Bambelela journey.
Applications opened on 2 March 2026 and close on 2 April 2026 at 23:59.
