Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, on Saturday visited the Abuja residence of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to offer his condolences over the death of El-Rufai’s mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that Hajiya Umma passed away on Friday after battling age-related health challenges, which had worsened in recent times. The family confirmed her death in a statement released the same day.
Since the announcement of her passing, several prominent political figures have paid condolence visits to El-Rufai at his Abuja residence.
Among them was former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who visited to sympathise with the former governor and his family.
El-Rufai, who was released by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on compassionate grounds following his mother’s death, has also received visits from other notable leaders, including former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, and Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
In a post on his social media page, Senator Tambuwal disclosed details of his condolence visit.
“Today, my team and I paid a condolence visit to former Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Mallam @elrufai, to commiserate with him and his family over the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai,” Tambuwal said.
“We expressed our deep sympathy and shared in their grief at this difficult time. The loss of a mother is profoundly personal and irreplaceable, and we stand in solidarity with the family in mourning her passing.
“We prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgives her shortcomings, grants her Aljannatul Firdaus, and blesses the family with the strength and patience to bear this great loss.
“May her life and legacy continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.”
