Former Kaduna State gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, has officially resigned from the party.
Ashiru made this known in a resignation letter submitted to the PDP Chairman, Kudan Ward, Kudan Local Government Area of the state, on Friday, March 27, 2026.
While citing the party’s “persistent internal leadership crisis, conflicts, rancor and divisions,” the two-term gubernatorial candidate noted that the “decision is personal and taken in good faith.”
“I write with a deep sense of humility to formally notify the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of my decision to resign my membership of the party, effective from today, March 27, 2026.
“After careful reflection over the persistent internal leadership crisis, conflicts, rancor and divisions, it has become increasingly difficult for me to continue to participate actively as a member of the party,” he said.
