‘Hell will rain down’ – Trump gives Iran 48 hours to reach deal amid search for missing US pilot

United States President Donald Trump on Saturday issued a warning to Iran, saying the country has 48 hours to reach an agreement with Washington or face severe consequences.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said “time is running out” and referenced a previous ultimatum he claimed to have given Tehran to either strike a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

“Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will rain down on them,” Trump wrote, adding, “Glory be to GOD!”

The warning comes amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran following weeks of escalating military and political standoffs across the Gulf region.

Washington has continued to push for a comprehensive agreement that would require Iran to fully abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions, including uranium enrichment, as well as scale back its ballistic missile programme and regional influence.

In return, the US has signalled the possibility of easing economic sanctions.

The latest remarks also follow reports of a US F-15E fighter jet going down over Iranian territory on Friday, with search and rescue efforts ongoing for a missing crew member.

While Trump did not address the incident directly, it has added to concerns about a potential further deterioration in relations between both countries, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
