Oyo fire agency recovers one body, rescues nine persons in IbadanĀ 

Oyo State Fire Service has recovered one body from scene of an accident in Ibadan, the state capital.

The agency also rescued no fewer than nine persons from scene of a fire incident that also occured in the ancient city.

DAILY POST gathered that the incidents occurred on Saturday.

Our correspondent reports that the accident occurred at the front Omo Ajorosun club house along Total Garden in Ibadan.

It was learnt that a ASHOK Leyland truck with registration number FFF340XB (Ogun) ran over a motorcycle and smashed it.

DAILY POST gathered that a male victim was recovered from the scene of the accident by men of the fire service.

The body was handed over to policemen from Yemetu Division.

Meanwhile, DAILY POST gathered that the fire incident occurred at no 18 Idi Oro Road (A) Sode along Ajibode in Ibadan.

The fire affected a private residential building of (4) bedrooms flat.

Nine persons were rescued by fire fighters.

The victims were immediately rushed to Oyo Mesi Specialist Hospital in Ibadan for proper medical attention.

DAILY POST also gathered that fire ravaged three shops in Iseyin in Oke Ogun geopolitical zone.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the three incidents in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Sunday.

Akinwande noted that men of the agency were immediately mobilised to the scenes immediately they were informed.

Akinwande said, ā€œOur officers quickly swung into action, recovered a male victim and handed over to a team of policemen from Yemetu Police Divisional Headquarters led by Asp Atiola Wasiuā€.
