Armed bandits on Tuesday, attacked Chekugi Community in Lafiagi Emirate, Edu LGA of Kwara State, killing one resident, and abducted family members in a deadly midnight attack.
According to sources who spoke with NUPEKOTV, the assailants stormed the community at about 2:00 a.m. and invaded the residence of a man identified as Yellow Kabari.
He was reportedly killed during the attack, while members of his family were abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
The incident has left residents in shock, with many expressing concern over the growing insecurity in the area.
Community members who now live in fear have called on security agencies to intensify efforts to secure lives and property.
At the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from authorities regarding the attack or the fate of the abducted family members.
Meanwhile, local residents have continued to appeal for urgent intervention to prevent further occurrences.
