Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, believes Michael Carrick will bring stability to the Red Devils if he is appointed permanently.
Neville believes Carrick has propelled himself into the frontrunner position after steering the club to Champions League qualification via a thrilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool on Sunday at Old Trafford.
Since taking the reins from Ruben Amorim in January, Carrick has guided United to 10 wins in 14 matches.
“No one else is being seriously linked with the job. He’s put himself in pole position with what he’s accomplished,” Neville told Sky Sports post-match.
“Man Utd need some stability. They have not had that for the last few years, but he’ll bring that in the sense that everyone trusts him.”
