A First Nation on Vancouver Island is offering a prize for information leading to a deadly hit and run imprisonment. Charles Tommy, a 21-year-old part of Snuneymuxw First Nation, was killed on Oct. 24 at around 7 p. m. on Harmac Road immediately south of the Cedar Road Bridge. An unnamed car that did not remain at the scene, according to Nanaimo RCMP, struck Tommy, according to Nanaimo RCMP. Witnesses told authorities they witnessed Tommy being struck or run over while both were standing on the shoulder and lying in the road. Tips that directly lead to an arrest are rewarded in the Snuneymuxw First Nation’s$ 3,500 incentive system. According to Nanaimo RCMP, the car’s drivers may not have known that they had struck a man. At the time of his death, Tommy’s relatives shared that he was the adoring father of a seven-month-old son and was known for his sense of humour, which earned him the title Chuckles. He even cherished fish and would often fish with local seniors. Tommy was also the only boy and youngest child of his parents. Trending Then
