Former National Publicity Secretary of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Ladipo Johnson, has said that former presidential candidate of the party, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, is putting Nigeria’s unity above personal ambition.
Johnson made this statement on Monday in an interview on Arise Television.
He was reacting to the recent defection of two opposition leaders to the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC.
DAILY POST recalls that Kwankwaso and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, dumped the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for the NDC ahead of the 2027 elections.
“If you are not satisfied with what is happening in the country, there are other leaders from the South, and within our party we have Peter Obi.
“We have also seen that Kwankwaso has thrown his weight behind this decision, because he believes Nigeria’s unity is more important than personal ambition, and I dare say he will support Peter Obi as he begins this journey.”
