Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has submitted his governorship nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2027 Kebbi State governorship election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Mohammed Bello Doka, Special Assistant on Media to Malami.

According to the statement, the nomination forms were submitted at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja in line with the party’s guidelines.

The statement said Malami’s entry into the governorship race has generated political reactions across Kebbi State amid ongoing consultations ahead of the 2027 elections.

It added that the former minister has commenced consultations across the 21 local government areas of the state as part of efforts to strengthen support for his governorship ambition.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Malami secured the ADC governorship nomination form and pledged to work towards rebuilding Kebbi State, with emphasis on security, agriculture, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

The former minister said his decision to contest was driven by the need to address insecurity, economic challenges, and governance issues affecting the state.

He also described the ADC as a platform focused on accountability, inclusion, and development ahead of the 2027 general elections.
