Governor Alex Otti of Abia State says his administration has recovered many lands, vehicles and other government assets allegedly converted to private use by officials who served during the previous administrations.
He also said that some persons, who were stopped from taking Abia State government funds, now resort to spiritual acts against him, by pouring of libations.
Governor Alex Otti disclosed this in Umuahia on Friday while addressing journalists during the May edition of his monthly media chat.
He said that the vehicles recovered from the former public servants were not auctioned, but have been returned into the Stateās ministries and agencies for official use.
Governor Otti also said that some individuals in the State who depended on public funds and illegally acquired wealth have been identified and blocked from having access to Abia Stateās property.
According to him, some of the former government officials dragged the Abia State government to court to challenge the recovery of the property from them.
āWe have recovered a lot of stolen assets, especially lands from people who acquired them illegally.
āSome of them have approached the court and we have met them there,ā he said.
Otti knocked those performing libations and other spiritual acts against him, saying that their anger was because their alleged access to Abia State government funds have been blocked.
āWhen you see some people complaining and pouring libations, you discover their mouths have been removed from the feeding bottle,ā Governor Otti said.
