After a turbulent week for his group, a growing number of Democratic MPs are calling for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to step over. More than 50 of the 75 Progressive MPs from Ontario held a one-hour conference on Saturday to talk about their party’s management, Global News has learned. Few MPs at the conference meeting spoke out in favor of Trudeau’s continued authority, but many others expressed regret over his departure, claiming that his reputation has since become” toxic.” The Toronto Star and CBC News first reported on the Ontario conference gathering, and Global News who spoke with MPs who were there also confirmed those facts. The Ontario Liberal conference couch, Michael Coteau, was given the task of explaining the meeting’s topics to Trudeau in an effort to get him to decide when to leave. On Sunday, Coteau did not respond to requests for comment. Also, some Ontario Democrats, including Yasir Naqvi, Shafqat Ali and Majid Jowhari, have spoken in aid of Trudeau as late as later last month. On Friday, Arya released a notice that he wrote to Trudeau, calling on him to” stage aside as chief of the Democratic caucus soon”. ” While I fit as a fiscally-center-right Secular and have often disagreed with your left-leaning opportunities, I have regularly supported you since last summer, yet when some of our acquaintances called for your departure”, Arya wrote in the text dated Dec. 20 and shared on X. It became clear to me, however, that you no longer keep the trust of the House of Commons.
