The Commonwealth is set to implement a new framework to guide the delivery of the Commonwealth Youth Programme over the next three years to advance youth development across member countries.
The framework aligns the project with the Strategic Plan 2025ā2030 and positions young people as partners and leaders in building democratic, economic and environmental resilience.
The initiative, endorsed by the Youth Ministerial Task Force, seeks to create opportunities for youth leadership, skills, entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion, supported by measurable results.
Commonwealth Secretary-General, Shirley Botchwey, said the strong level of support received reflects a shared dedication to strengthening the allianceās co-operation on youth development.

The chief executive highlighted the valuable recommendations on implementation, financing, technical assistance, and support for Small States and Small Island Developing States.
The contributions, Botchwey noted, have enriched the framework and will help ensure that the Commonwealth Youth Programme remains practical and responsive to the needs of young people.
Ministers reaffirmed the distinct role of the scheme for empowerment, while hailing the frameworkās emphasis on youth mainstreaming across the pillars of the Secretariatās Strategic Plan.
They also endorsed a portfolio of high-impact initiatives designed to boost inclusive youth participation, venture creation, access to finance, digital capabilities, and capacity building.
Moefaauouo Julius Tafunai, the Ministerial Task Force Co-Chair, restated ministersā commitment to the āstrategic and collaborativeā project, one which puts youths at the forefront and delivers impactful outcomes.
