AFCON Qualifier: New Coach Pitso Mosimane Plots Bafana 2-1 Victory Over Guinea

Johannesburg – Bafana Bafana, South Africa’s men’s national soccer team, beat visitors Guinea 2-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations Group D qualifier on Saturday, 26 September 2026, at Orlando Amstel Arena.

Bafana opened the scoring with a bullet shot from Ime Okon in the 30th minute.

Guinea equalised through Seydouba Cissé in the 69th minute.

However, Samukele Kabini’s 77th-minute goal saw Bafana regain the lead.

The result meant that newly appointed head coach Pitso Mosimane began his second stint in charge of Bafana Bafana on a positive note with a home win.
