iDurban – Six people have died in a horrific multiple vehicle collision on the N3 toward Van Reenen in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
“I have just received a report from our Road Traffic Inspectorate team informing me about the death of six people in a horrific accident along the N3 toward Van Reenen, Ladysmith,” KZN Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma said on Tuesday, 27 October 2026.
“This accident involves two trucks and a double cab.
“We wish to express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.”
The MEC said the northbound and southbound fast lanes are currently obstructed as the accident scene is still active.
“In this regard, we request motorists to exercise extra caution and allow emergency rescue services, health professionals, and law enforcement agencies to execute their operations,” Duma said.
