The South-South geopolitical zone has become a focal point of political mobilization as the Director-General of Relax, Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), Hon. Ahmed Bala, leads the organization’s zonal town hall engagement in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its development agenda.

The mobilization programme brings the Renewed Hope conversation to the grassroots, with particular attention to economic reforms, national development, political inclusion and the expectations of citizens ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The engagement reflects RELAX’s determination to deepen political awareness and strengthen its presence across the six South-South states.

The organization has continued to emphasize the need for Nigerians to understand the structural challenges confronting the economy and the policy measures introduced to address them.

Among the major reforms implemented by President Tinubu’s administration are changes to the petroleum subsidy system, foreign exchange management and public finance.

While these policies have generated debate over their immediate impact on household incomes and business costs, government supporters argue that they are intended to address longstanding economic distortions and create conditions for sustainable growth.

For the South-South, discussions about economic transformation carry particular significance because of the region’s contributions to petroleum production, gas development, maritime commerce and industrial activities.

The town hall also provides an opportunity to focus attention on youth employment, entrepreneurship, infrastructure and the need for development policies that respond to the aspirations of communities across the region.

RELAX is a sister organization to the City Boy Movement, with Barr. Seyi Tinubu identified as Founder-in-Chief. Under the leadership of Hon. Ahmed Bala as Director-General, the organization has placed grassroots sensitization and political participation at the centre of its activities.

The South-South mobilization is part of a broader effort to encourage political engagement beyond election periods and promote informed discussion about government policies.

As the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections, the organization is using the engagement to communicate its support for President Tinubu’s re-election and its position that continuity in economic reforms is important to Nigeria’s development.

The programme also highlights the growing importance of regional town halls as platforms for political dialogue, policy communication and engagement between advocacy organizations and ordinary citizens.
