​CHAN 2024Q: Home Eagles Arrive in Uyo, Ogunmodede Strengthens Team with Five New Players    

 

The Super Eagles, playing at home, reached Uyo on Tuesday for the second leg of their 2024 African Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana’s Black Galaxies. The team and their officials flew in from Accra to Nigeria on Monday. In the first leg held in Accra on Sunday, the Eagles played to a 0-0 draw with the Black Galaxies. On Tuesday night, they held training at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. In addition, interim head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has brought back five players for the important match. The players consist of strikers Samuel Ayanrinde (Shooting Stars) and Sunday Megwo (Abia Warriors), along with Enugu Rangers midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye, Vincent Temitope from Plateau United, and Badmus Gbadamosi from Kwara United.
