Super Eagles: Eguavoen makes requests regarding foreign coach

Augustine Eguavoen, the Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has urged for a swift decision regarding the appointment of a permanent head coach for the Super Eagles. Eguavoen stepped in as interim head coach in September and led the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. However, the NFF is still in search of a foreign coach to manage the three-time African champions. Eguavoen has called on the federation to expedite the hiring process in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which will begin in March 2025. “We need everyone on board; our goal is to qualify for the World Cup,” Eguavoen stated during an interview with Kennis FM. “March is fast approaching.” If we need to take action regarding the team, we must do it swiftly. “That person should arrive as soon as possible, get settled, so we can discuss, make adjustments, share ideas, and talk about the next steps.” “The sooner, the better.”
