At least 25 women have been kidnapped by suspected bandits in Kurmi town, within the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. BBC Hausa reports that the women were allegedly on their way to a wedding when they were ambushed and taken by the assailants. In another incident, 19 individuals were also kidnapped in Galadi, a town in the Tsafe Local Government Area. Several others were injured during the nighttime assault. These attacks have heightened fear and anxiety among the local residents. Zamfara State has faced a continuing pattern of violent assaults in recent years, particularly in rural areas, which are frequently targeted by armed groups.
