EPL: Maresca expresses desire for Chelsea player to remain.

Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, stated that the club wishes for forward Christopher Nkunku to remain with them past the January transfer window. Nkunku has been rumored to be leaving Chelsea during that window, with Premier League competitor Manchester United allegedly interested in acquiring the French player. Nkunku is currently lower in the pecking order than Nicolas Jackson in Maresca’s selection of forwards at Chelsea. The 27-year-old hasn’t yet secured a spot in Maresca’s starting lineup this season. Discussing Nkunku’s future with Chelsea before their Premier League match against Fulham on Boxing Day, Maresca stated in his pre-game interview: “We appreciate Christo and want him to stay with us. There will always be players who are dissatisfied and some may request to leave in January. I can’t say if that pertains to Christo or another player.” “We want to make sure they stay here.”
