Enyimba chose to forgo Christmas festivities in order to prepare for their upcoming match against Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on matchday 19. The team held their regular training session on Wednesday to refine their strategies for the game. Enyimba is set to face Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium on Thursday, December 26. They have not won any of their last five NPFL matches and currently sit in 12th place on the league table with 22 points. Last season, Enyimba lost 1-0 to Plateau United in the same fixture, with Adam Yakubu scoring the only goal.
