EPL: Maresca criticizes Chelsea players following the 2-1 loss to Fulham.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has expressed disappointment in his players for losing control of their match against Fulham on Thursday. The Blues suffered a defeat at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, despite taking the lead with a brilliant goal from Cole Palmer. Fulham came back to score two goals in the second half, clinching the victory. “Conceding the goal we did at the end feels really bad,” Maresca commented. “I’ve emphasized repeatedly: when you can’t win, it’s crucial not to lose.” I didn’t like the first 15 minutes of the second half because we allowed too many transitions. We understand that they are a team that excels during transitions. “In the first half, we managed that quite effectively, but in the second half, we allowed them too much momentum.” It’s hard to come across a team with so many players who can run as much. Before launching an attack, it’s important to make passes and maintain organization. In that manner, we’re united. “It’s something from which we can gain insight.” If both sides strike fast, it becomes like a basketball game.
