In the case of the Saarland, the French authorities have not yet been able to establish the existence of a legal basis for the granting of the aid.

The parquet financier du Sénégal has seized upon an affair alluring as a state scandal. On the surface: a transaction considered doubtful between Postefinances (filiale de La Poste) and Saar Vie SA, the financial consequences of which could amount to more than 1,396 billion FCFA. According to the revelations of the journal Libération, this affair has its origins in a long judicial dispute. In 2021, after more than ten years of proceedings, Saar Vie SA and Sagef had been definitively sentenced to pay 1.396 million. 389.797 FCFA to Postefinances, in addition to a validated mortgage on 11 buildings belonging to the insurance company. Mais coup de théâtre: in the midst of a financial crisis and without the approval of the board of directors, Postefinances had signed a mysterious memorandum of understanding with Saar Vie. This agreement would have had the effect of annulling almost the whole of the judgment and the mortgage, thus erasing a massive public debt. The dossier involves former senior officials.
