( BPRW) Thurgood Marshall College Fund team member pens new book about artificial intelligence and the culture( Black PR Wire ) A Thurgood Marshall College Fund ( TMCF ) team member recently published a book about the rise of artificial intelligence ( AI ) and what an equitable approach to it could mean for underrepresented communities. Nyjal J. Drayton, webmaster at TMCF, said he knew he wanted to write “A I For The Culture: How Emerging Tech Is Leveling The Playing Field ” after recognizing the growing need for accessible education around the technology, and the number of people asking him how to get started using AI responsibly, ethically and efficiently. Drayton started experimenting with Artificial in later 2022, around the same time OpenAI released ChatGPT. “At the day, I was leading TMCF’s MetaScholars system on the I& E group, which gave me first contact to emerging technologies, ” Drayton said. He said the obvious connect he saw between exposure, education and picture inspired him to explore the connection between AI and the society. ‘A I is advancing rapidly, but so many people in our communities aren’t being included in the conversation because of lack of exposure, lack of literacy or being over-hesitant, ” Drayton said. “Our society has always been innovative, we only have n’t often been given the tools or a seat at the table. ”By writing this book, Drayton said he wanted to start to break that barrier along and make something that could help people understand, participate and guide with AI in way that feel healthy and encouraging. “This book was meant to blow past all the hoopla AI brought and show its potential for independence and effects, ” Drayton said. “ I wrote it to support our societies understand and lead with AI and not just get up to it or just become customers. The goal was to make the engineering experience available and practical, so we can show up in this area with trust and clarity. ” When he envisions his most enthusiastic prospect regarding AI’s effects, Drayton said he hopes it levels the playing field. “ I imagine individuals and authors from underserved communities using AI to invent, create and guide, because they had access to the right tools and support, ” he said. “If we approach Artificial with purpose and capital, it can become a strong push for possibility and transformation. ”During the study method, Drayton said one of the most amazing insight he found was the number of new jobs and skills emerging because of AI. Drayton cautions customers to continue carefully because there are honest considerations. “ When dealing with AI some ethical points to consider would be bias, misinformation, data privacy and human oversight, ” he said. “A I models can reflect societal biases from the data they’re trained on, so it ’s really important to question the outputs. ”Echoing advice from when the computer was in its infancy and growing, Drayton said AI may provide wrong information, making fact-checking necessary. “People should also be wary of what information they’re revealing and who’s behind the equipment they use, ” he said. ‘Most important, AI may help and not replace individual judgment, particularly in decisions that impact others. ”“A I For The Culture ” is available on Amazon.
