CHAN 2024Q: Ali Aims for 3rd CHAN Finals, Seeks to Secure Gold with Super Eagles B   

 

Rabiu Ali has revealed exclusively to Completesports. He expressed his joy at rejoining the Super Eagles B team and hopes that Augustine Eguavoen’s squad will qualify for the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) finals, which are scheduled to take place in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda in February 2025. The motivated Kano Pillars midfielder was a member of the Super Eagles B team under the late Stephen Keshi that secured a bronze medal in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2014. Four years later, Ali was part of Salisu Yusuf’s team that earned a silver medal following a 4-0 defeat to the host nation Morocco in the final on February 4, 2018, at Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca. After already winning silver and bronze medals in CHAN, Ali is now focused on achieving the ultimate gold, although he emphasizes that obtaining qualification is his top priority. In an exclusive interview with com following the Home Eagles’ training session on Thursday night at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, he stated, “Every player dreams of wearing the national team colors, but sadly, not everyone has the opportunity.” That’s why I’m very thankful to Allah for this selection. “If we qualify, it will be my third time in the tournament finals. I’m definitely hoping we can win against Ghana on Saturday. The ticket is the primary goal.
