The former director general of the Caisse des dépôts et consignations (CDC), Cheikh Issa Sall, is the subject of a judicial investigation conducted by the gendarmerie’s research section, following a complaint lodged by CDC Habitat, according to information reported by Libération. At the heart of the case: a seven-seater Mercedes vehicle with an estimated value of 80 million CFA francs. L’ancien dirigeant is suspected of having kept this vehicle de manière irrégulière after his departure as head of the institution. Le véhicule aurait ensuite été cédé à un tiers, identified as A.S. Diouf, before being recently restored.. To regularize the situation, Cheikh Issa Sall signed a deed of sale allowing the official reallocation of the vehicle to CDC Habitat. However, this approach did not put an end to the procedure. The former Director-General should be heard again by the investigators in order to clarify the conditions of this cession.
