Kgomotso Kunene transformed her own skin struggles into a career helping others regain confidence through expert beauty and hair care.

Kwa-Thema – Kgomotso Kunene’s journey into the beauty and hair industry began in 2019, born from personal struggles that ultimately sparked a passion to help others.
Growing up, Kunene battled with severe acne and persistent skin problems that deeply affected her self-esteem.
“I lacked confidence and courage because of my skin issues. I struggled a lot with criticism and questions from my peers. I tried everything the market offered, but nothing seemed to work, or the results did not last,” she shared.
Motivated by a desire to find lasting solutions for herself and others, Kunene began exploring skincare more seriously. Her experiences laid the foundation for her career as a hair technician and advanced make-up artist.
“I chose this path after realising how many people, like me, struggle to find the suitable products. Hair growth, for example, is a challenge for many. Understanding different hair types and what products work for them is key,” she said.
Through research, training, and hands-on experience, Kunene has managed to restore her own skin’s health and now helps others achieve the same.
“I have gained my confidence, and now I want to help others do the same,” she added.
She emphasises the importance of understanding your skin, seeking professional advice, and avoiding random product use.
“To those who are struggling like I did, I encourage you to find what works for your skin. Do not worsen the condition by trying everything on the shelf,” she advised.
Today, she offers hair and beauty care guidance to anyone in need, combining expertise with empathy born from experience.
