A subsequent attempt to free a ship that is stranded north of Montreal in the St. Lawrence River won’t occur until Sunday. The MV Maccoa’s user, according to the French Coast Guard, intends to remove more than 3, 000 measurement tons of corn to reduce the vessel’s weight. After a previous try ended in failure last week, the coast guard had predicted the operation would start on January 1. However, the new strategy is to start loading the cargo on Thursday and attempt to refloat the ship on Sunday. The ship’s state is secure with a team of 20 people on board and no signs of pollution, according to the coast guard, but the projection for rain that could slow down the procedure because corn may be unloaded in the rain.
