Tsakani – Ballers FC delivered a dominant performance against Robertsham FC, claiming a 2–0 victory in Bedfordview on June 1 to secure the Hollywood Bets Ekurhuleni Stream A championship title. This win marks a significant milestone in one of the team’s most competitive and hard-fought seasons.
“Both teams displayed impressive performances throughout the match, with each side showing strength in their respective halves.
“Robertsham FC was strong both defensively and offensively; they were well-structured.
We struggled to unlock their defence. We created good chances, and so did they.
“Despite chances on both sides, my team’s defensive discipline was key to maintaining a clean sheet,” said team chairperson Nkosinathi Mbonani.
Mbonani added that tactical adjustments made by the technical team in the second half paid off.

He said the breakthrough came in the 56th minute with the first goal, followed by a second in the 70th minute, that sealed the game and ultimately the championship.
“Despite playing away from home, a passionate group of travelling supporters fuelled the team. Their energy helped us tremendously and pushed us forward,” said Mbonani.
He explained that their victory carries deep significance, particularly for the community of Tsakani. He noted it was the second time Ballers FC had qualified for the inter-regional playoffs.
Their first was in 2023 when they reached the semi-finals but fell short of progressing.
Ballers FC is filled with confidence and is preparing to face Alberton FC, Luso Africa, and Tembisa Destroyers in the inter-regional top four playoffs this coming week. The team has called on the people of KwaTsaduza to support them, emphasising that they are playing for the community.
Mbonani reflected on the season, mentioning that the numbers tell a story of resilience and excellence: 28 games played, 19 wins, 7 draws, and 2 losses – an outstanding run that has brought them once again to the doorstep of regional glory.
