The Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko left Dakar on Friday 20 June 2025 for an official visit to the People’s Republic of China. This visit is part of the strengthening of bilateral relations between Dakar and Beijing, historical partners in several strategic fields. During this visit, the Senegalese head of government is expected to meet with senior Chinese authorities, including his counterpart, as well as economic and institutional officials. Several subjects are on the agenda, including economic cooperation, investments in infrastructure, technology transfer, energy and agriculture. This official visit marks an important step in the revitalization of Sino-Senegalese cooperation, in a context where Senegal intends to diversify its partnerships to support its economic and social development.
