Grant Scully, Famous Hudson Valley Photographer Passes Away  

A popular NY artist, Grant Scully, common in the Hudson Valley Facebook team dedicated to understanding the regional U. S. area, has died. Scully’s death occurred before the turn of the New Year, on December 30th, 2024, the Hudson Valley team announced in a blog on its platform. He was 67.


“The passing of Grant Scully has shocked and saddened us greatly. He was an early part of The Hudson Valley group, and by far the party’s most famous part”, the article from the website read. His photography” set a standard for the kinds of images we may aim to record,” they said.

“These images genuinely reveal the beauty of our area. His determination and commitment to our place in the world may be greatly missed. He proudly shared his satisfaction in the Valley with others while sharing stunning images of it all over. Additionally, Rockland County recalled him for his outstanding efforts in promoting the area.

“We are profoundly saddened to learn about the transferring of Piermont native and legendary artist Grant Scully, 67. Rockland County and the lower Hudson Valley were both captured in Grant’s images in beautiful and distinctive detail. We had the pride of sharing some of his pictures on this page because he was dedicated to showing the Hudson Valley,” the Rockland Report wrote in a blog.

Hanneman Funeral Home provided a memorial article for Scully and wrote numerous tributes in his honor. In addition, many donation options have been created to assist his family in navigating this challenging time.
