The internal dispute in the Socialist Party (PS) takes a judicial turn. A significant fringe of militants and cadres, grouped around the “Initiative for the Refoundation of the Socialist Party”, frontally question the legitimacy of the ruling team led by Aminata Mbengue Ndiaye, secretary general interim since July 2019. Les Frondeurs are considering bringing the case to justice, Les Echos reports. A judicial procedure would be under study, with the intention of mandating Me El Hadji Diouf, a well-known figure of the Bar, to file a complaint accompanied by a dossier supported by the signatures of militants demanding the resignation of the leadership in place. However, this deposition was delayed, the lawyer being unavailable for the moment. This contretemps did not affect the determination of the dissident group. An emergency meeting, held online on 2 July, allowed to maintain the pressure and plan the next steps.
