Felix Agu, a defender for Werder Bremen, has announced his plan to change his international affiliation from Germany to Nigeria. Born in Germany but of Nigerian heritage, the 25-year-old remains eligible to play for Nigeria, despite having represented Germany at the U-21 level. Agu expressed that fulfilling his dream of playing for Nigeria would be an incredible opportunity. “Playing at the national level has always been a dream for me, and I’ve already taken a significant step by being part of the German under 21 team,” he shared with Oma Sports. “I did this to keep my options open, but I’ve had extensive conversations with Justin Njimah regarding the national team, and we both believe that representing Nigeria would be a dream come true. Plus, it would make our fathers very proud to see us represent Nigeria.” Agu began his professional journey at Vfl Osnabruck before joining Werder Bremen in 2020. This season, he has netted two goals in 14 league matches for the Green and Whites. Written by Adeboye Amosu.
