President Federation Cup men’s runners-up Abakaliki FC were involved in a minor road accident on Sunday while on their way back to their base in Ebonyi State .. The incident was confirmed to Completesports.com by the club’s media officer Chukwuma Ogbonna.. According to Ogbonna, the incident which happened at Ore in Ondo State was due to break failure.. He, however, said there were no casualties as the accident was not that serious.. “Yes, it’s true we were involved in an accident but it was not that serious,” he revealed.. “It was due to break failure which led to our 18-seater bus hitting a truck in front of us which damaged the front light.”. Ogbonna also stated that they have already continued their journey.. Only formed in 2024, Abakaliki FC surprisingly went all the way to the final of the President Federation Cup. but lost to Kwara United on penalty shootout.. The final which was played inside the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, saw Abakaliki lose 4-3 on penalties after 90 minutes ended goalless..
