Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has sanctioned a new set of high-profile appointments in various essential agencies. The announcements were made in a statement released on Friday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofo. Notably, Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkar has been appointed as the head of the Kano State Information & Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA). Dr. Muzakkar, prior to his new role, acted as the Special Adviser to the Governor for Digital and Creative Economy and is known for his innovative approach as a technocrat. Additionally, Kabiru Saidu Dakata has taken on the position of Director General at the Kano State Advert and Signage Agency (KASA), an important agency for urban development and regulation. In the realm of social development, Dr. Fatima Abdul Abubakar, affectionately referred to as Amneef, has been appointed as Director General of the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA). She served as the Special Adviser on Enlightenment and Social Mobilization for the Governor. Governor Yusuf additionally sanctioned the appointment of Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of the Kano State Housing Corporation. Additionally, Hamisu Musa Gambo Danzaki has taken on the role of Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board, where he will manage the state’s educational support initiatives. Barrister Isma’il Nasarawa is now the Provost of the Anti-Corruption Institute, a decision viewed as part of the governor’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability. In the realm of security, retired military officer Captain Mohd Bello Maigaskiya Gabasawa has been named the new Commandant of the Corporate Security Institute. Governor Yusuf expressed his confidence in these new appointees, emphasizing that their extensive experience and commitment to public service will be essential in achieving his vision for a better Kano.
