
Traditional ruler of Bayangan community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Ojibara of Bayangan, is still held by bandits, contrary to reports that he has been released.
Oba Ojibara was abducted by armed bandits on Saturday at about 9:30 am alongside 12 others.
Security sources who dismissed the report of the release, informed DAILY POST in Ilorin on Tuesday that “the DSS and police authorities are not in the picture”
According to them, as of 2nd December 2025, reports from bandits’ hideouts indicate that 13 individuals, including the HRH Ojibara of Bayangan and three females, are being held captive by the hoodlums who operated in Bayangan, Ilala, Memudu, Adanla, Agbeku, and Idera over the past five days.”
The abductees are appealing for negotiations with the bandits, citing the Eruku incident as a precedent.
The bandits are demanding a ransom of between ₦100 million and ₦150 million per head.
