Abia Govt reiterates warning against unauthorized free medical outreaches in communities  

Abia State government has reiterated its advice to the citizens to avoid patronizing free medical outreaches that were not approved by  the State government.

It also urged residents of the State to  avoid patronizing quack medical personnel, vendors of fake drugs or  unwholesome food products.

The State’s Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu gave the advice at the Government House, Umuahia, while briefing journalists on the outcome of Abia State executive council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.

Kanu, who warned on the dangers of fake products to the health of the citizens, also urged the Abia public to  eat and drink responsibly during the yuletide and observe good hygiene practices.

The Commissioner for Information said that the State government will, in collaboration with National Association of Nigerian Nurses, organize another free medical outreaches in January 2026, explaining that the exercise would be conducted in seven different Primary healthcare centres in the State.
