A fatal accident has occurred this Wednesday 20 August 2025 at the rond-point Sypse de Bountou Pikine. A motorcyclist, identified as a delivery driver named “Thiak Thiak”, lost his life after being struck by a bus on line 61 of the AFTU network. According to several witnesses cited by LCIS, the drama occurred following an altercation between the bus driver and the victim. The driver would have uttered threats before overtaking the motorcyclist and hitting him violently. The crash was fatal, the victim died on the spot. The police were alerted and an investigation was opened in order to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident and to determine the responsibilities. This bus of the Line 61 had already been reported several times by Internet users for dangerous behaviour on the road. In a publication dated Thursday 21 August 2025, the page Luttons contre l’indiscipline au Sénégal recalled that the vehicle, identified had been the subject of previous denunciations, notably on 6 July 2024 and 23 June 2025, in connection with other traffic incidents.
