
The Adamawa state government has confirmed that 11 people injured during the recent communal clash in Lamurde Local Government Area are currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital.
The Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, confirmed this during a visit to the hospital to see the victims and check on their condition.
She called on the communities involved in the clash to embrace peace and settle their differences through dialogue.
“As a government, we pray for quick recovery of the patients,” she said.
“Our people should understand that there can be no development without peace.”
She assured the victims that the government would continue to work to prevent further violence.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Dauda Wadinga said the patients were responding well to treatment and would likely be discharged soon.
The violence broke out on the night of Sunday, 7 December 2025, when heavily armed attackers invaded Waduku, Rigange, Tingo leading to heavy injuries. The state government had to impose a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area and surrounding communities to restore calm.
