Rabat – Senegal defeated hosts Morocco 1-0 after extra time in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
Pape Gueye scored the winner in the 94th minute.
The match saw a disallowed Senegal goal and a nine-minute pitch walk-off in dispute over a penalty awarded to Morocco.
However, the controversial late penalty was saved by Édouard Mendy, and a nine-minute pitch walk-off.
Sadio Mané, who rallied his team with cries of “We’re going to play like men!” was named the Player of the Tournament.
Mendy starred in goal for the Teranga Lions, marking their second AFCON title after 2021.
