
Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi says it is important for the team’s head coach Éric Chelle, to retain the post after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Chelle’s future remain uncertain following the Super Eagles’ semi-final defeat to the Atlas Lions of Morocco.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, set a final target for the Malian on the eve of the competition.
The 48-year-old has expressed his desire to continue with the team but affirmed that the final decision rest with the NFF.
Ndidi is rooting for the gaffer to continue tinkering the team.
“All I want is that we keep the coach. We should be focused on continuity at this point,” Ndidi said during his interaction with media on Friday.
The Super Eagles will seek to end the AFCON 2025 finals on a positive note when they take on Egypt in the third-place match on Saturday.
