The appearance of a new channel bearing the logo of Africa 7 has prompted Oumou Wane, President of Citizen Media Group, owner of the TV and radio frequencies Africa 7, to go to the network to denounce a “vast scam or fake”. Oumou Wane has categorically affirmed that the exploitation company Africa 7, of which she is the majority owner, does not in any way belong to Mr Alioune Ndiaye or his alleged associates who are currently promoting and attempting to exploit it fraudulently. La Présidente de Citizen Media Group has announced that it has lodged a complaint with the Procureur de la République du Sénégal for “active influence peddling and fraud” against M. Ndiaye, accused of attempting to sell and exploit a television channel that does not belong to him. Mrs Wane has not hesitated to speak of “veritable escroquerie en bande organisée”, underlining the manoeuvres “contestables dans la sphère médiatico-politique”. According to Oumou Wane, investigations will be launched following this complaint from Africa 7, which says it is a victim of “fraud and influence trafficking by high-flying usurpers”. The institutions of the State are interpelled. In a note received by PressAfrik, Mme Wane and her associate, Monsieur Moussa Faye, the legitimate owners of Africa 7, affirm that la chaîne authentique has been “arbitrarily prevented from broadcasting by the TDS on the instructions of the CNRA”. This would have been done in order to “favor an ex-associé Monsieur Alioune Ndiaye déjà condamné par la justice dans cette même affaire.. Despite his recent release from prison, Alioune Ndiaye “continues, with the support of his relais, to bafouer the judicial decisions and to broadcast via an illegitimate YouTube channel”, declares Madame Wane. In the meantime, la chaîne légitime Africa 7 would be “discredited, dismantled, and its activity rendered impossible”.
