Le quotidien Walfadjri reports that the procureur adjoint du Parquet financier has requested the indictment of the singer Wally Seck, as well as his placement sous mandat de dépôt. He is being prosecuted in the context of an investigation for association of criminals in connection with an organized criminal group, as well as for money laundering. Other persons named include Ibrahima Ba, son of former Prime Minister Amadou Ba, his chauffeur Cheikh Tidiane Seck, former Minister Samuel Sarr – already imprisoned in the West African Energy (WAE) dossier – as well as Mamadou Sy, Saliou Sylla and Babacar Niang. According to information provided by Walfadjri, this procedure is part of a wider investigation aimed at identifying all the natural and legal persons involved in suspicious financial transactions. A report by the National Financial Intelligence Unit (Centif) has allegedly highlighted the movement of doubtful funds exceeding 125 billion FCFA, in which entities allegedly linked to Amadou Macky Sall are involved.
