The patron of the Avenir Communication company, journalist Madiambal Diagne, is actively sought by the security services after having ignored a summons from the Division des enquêtes criminelles (Dic). His dossier took a major turn on Wednesday when he failed to appear at the police station, where the police had to notify him of a simple order of prohibition of exit from the territory. This summons followed his interception, the day before, by the Police de l’air et des frontières (Paf) at the airport, while he was preparing to embark for Paris. Faced with his absence and strong suspicions of absconding, the investigators went to his domicile with the authorization of the judge of the first financial cabinet, without however finding him. All attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful, the competent services have issued a search and arrest notice and have launched a vast operation to find him. According to the media, this case takes its source in a report of the National Cell for the Treatment of Financial Information (CENTIF) which would involve Madiambal Diagne in a suspicious operation amounting to 21 billion FCFA. In the wake of this disappearance, his wife, presented as the manager of one of his companies, was placed in custody, according to information released on Thursday.
